As an unprecedented year drew its last, gasping breath, all one could know with any certainty going into 2021 was that the turbulence of last year had not met its end. With vaccine-mania sweeping the globe and obscuring most other newsworthy events, many may have overlooked the SolarWinds attack, which came to light in early December 2020.

Although reports only recently surfaced, security and industry experts are speculating that the attack on SolarWinds Orion may have compromised as many as 18,000 companies and government entities utilizing the platform, beginning as early as October 2019.  What’s more, the news coverage to date has largely focused on the impact of the attacks for U.S. entities using Orion. In fact, the attacks have a far wider reach, and Israeli companies, whether or not SolarWinds users, are well-advised to consider the impact on their own organizations.
