As part of their free Lunch & Learn speaker series, Jewish National Fund-USA (JNF-USA) will be hosting a discussion about innovation in the realms of biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, and agricultural technology on Tuesday, November 10, 2020, from 12:00-1:15 PM (ET). The event will feature experts from the U.S. and Israel for an audience of medical professionals, investors, entrepreneurs, the general public, and members of the JNF-USA community.
Maia Aron, JNF-USA President of Miami noted that the focus of the program’s discussion will be on: “developments in the Israeli life sciences industry, including developments related to COVID-19 testing, biopharmaceuticals, medical devices, and healthcare services. For this reason, we could not think of a better partner to help us organize the panel and moderate the event than Robert (Bob) L. Grossman, Chair of Israel Practice and senior M&A and financing attorney at Greenberg Traurig’s Miami office.”
According to Bob, “JNF’s program will shine a bright light on Israel’s highly innovative life science industry, which has been at the forefront of so many past and present discoveries that are critical to global well-being. Now, with numerous Iife sciences companies working to end the threat of COVID-19, Israel’s critical role in this vital space is especially significant. I look forward to enjoying an enlightening discussion with the impressive panel members and commend JNF-USA for its commitment to philanthropy and investing in the future of Israel.”
Scheduled panelists include OrbiMed Israel’s Senior Managing Director, Nissim Darvish; Enlivex Therapeutics’ Chairman, Shai Novik; Opko Health’s EVP, Steven D. Rubin; and Professor Shmuel C. Shapira MD, MPH, Colonel (Res.), who serves as Professor of Medical Administration at Hebrew University Faculty of Medicine, as well as Director General at the Israel Institute for Biological Research and Chair of the Board of Life Science Research Israel.
